Oh tell thee, how much you love the Renaissance Faire?!

Well friends...it was my turn to plan a mystery trip for my bestfriend and myself! I choose the Folsom Renaissance Faire! It was different but a blast at the same time! We were some of the first ones in the faire, wearing street cloths. So, in the beginning felt a bit out of place. Soon that was a distant memory as we casually drifted to different venues. Here are some of the first group of people we saw. We saw these Spanish swashbucklers! Yep, they even had the accent down!

We saw knights and ladies in waiting, we saw peasants and royalty! We had fabulous food and even got to see some kick-a** jousting! Yes you heard me right...JOUSTING! Real live-oh-my-on-the-edge-watching jousting! THAT WAS THE MOST fun for Adrien and I both! Got some great photos!

Here were some great pirate-ladies-waitng! They had fab costumes and really fun spirits too! All this was put together through the Saint Matthews Guild. It seems they go all over the country doing these type of faires. All very interesting to me! And Adrien even bought a goblet to remember the day!

And this photo I just loved. The action of this beautiful Beligum and rider (knight) in the throws of real jousting! Gets my blood pumping! Whhoooooaaaa! Love this sport!

Tada! Here is my Hallween Hat that I made!

A little blurry but I wanted to show all 'the bling' on this hat! I put a gold 'G' for my partners name. And made rosettes with some retro feel ribbon. And one had a buckle added and the other a glittery spider! What I forgot to take a pic of was all the glittery orange polka dots all over the hat( not the brim). It was a very glittery piece! But my motto is...glittery is a girl's bestfriend! teehee!

I loved that my partner wanted 'retro'...I wanted to do a modern retro. With some flash! Why not...right?! I figured this would be used as a display/centerpiece, etc. I also placed a little glittery sign that says 'the witch is in'! LOL! I saw that I had to add it, it made me giggle. This swap was so fun and theraptic. I LOVED it and want to send out big hugs to Heather who hosted it. Heather is from Speckled Egg , you should drop by and say hi!

Thank you to all who left comments about the 'Tag you are it' post. I really enjoyed reading them. You all are blessings to me. (humbly) Thank you.

Just call me little miss homemaker...

I just have to tell you all what I received in the mail today! I was so excited to open up the wonderful white envelope. It was from Debra from The Bunnies Bungalow. This beautiful vintage half apron with precious poddles on it. Isn't fantastic. She was having a lovely sale in her boutique (online) and I just had to have it. Thank you so much Debra for packaging it so nicely and fast shipping.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but lots going on in my life at this moment.

I have a lot of stress at work at this time, where I needed to bring in my union to help me out. I have been a wreck over it. Then to find out my daddy has basal cell cancer (skin cancer) on his shoulder and it is bad (not life threatening, but will require alot of surgery and cosemtic surgery, too) and he also needs to have a bone marrow biopsy to find out why he isn't making enough red blood cells (could be life threatening). And the ones he does have are enlarged. I am freaked, but being strong for my daddy. Like he was for me when I was first diagonised with Thyroid Cancer. I really do need to find a healthy way to deal with stress...you know not your run of the mill type of stress but the stress that makes you sit on the bottom of your shower and sob till you don't even notice the water has turned stone cold. Yep, friends that is where I am!

The light at the end of the tunnel is that I got to spend some really great time with my sister today while my husband took the 2 oldest children (4 yrs and 2 1/2) and played with them upstairs. Time where my sister and I could just laugh, that laugh where you end up crying almost peeing your pants kind of laugh. At the end of it all, you both turn to each other and wonder why you started to laugh to begin with. I love my sister, not only am I blessed to have her as my sister, but she is my mentor and bestfriend and is always in my corner rooting for me!

And this is the month that I am planning my bestfriend (Adrien)and I's mystery trip. That will be fun and get my mind of life for a bit! The greatest thing about Adrien is that she is simple, uncomplicated. She takes me for whatever challenges I have. She never passes judgement and she knows me sometimes better than I know my self (as my sister does as well). She is always rooting me on, and sometimes tells me the brutal truth. But when those times happen, it is like taking a spoonful of sugar hearing it from her instead of the world. Her and I have a long history, we have known each other from highschool. Not alot of people can say that, Adrien and I have out lasted some marriages and diffently other friendships. These last troubling weeks have been mentally and phyiscally hard, but its when it gets tough when I truly find out how blessed I truly am! Without my bestfriends, Adrien and my darling sister I would have been lost.

Also, I want to thank all my blog friends for allowing me to visit and escape for a bit on YOUR blogs. I have truly loved visiting each of you and try very hard to leave comments. Thank you for sharing some of your life with me, I have enjoyed the journey.

P.S. Junie has tagged me and I will will play tomorrow and post it all here! Thanks Junie how fun! Hugs to you sweet lady!

Happy Birthday Sweet Husband of Mine!

To the man I love! Happy Birthday Jim! You are not only my husband but you are my truest of friends. I love our time together and the memories we make. Happy Birthday!

Yesterday, for Jim's birthday we (my younger sister and Jim and I) all went and played golf! My sister and I are beginners. But Jim loves teaching so it was a nice mix. Old (lol...couldn't resist)Pro and us, newbies! It was a lovely, lovely day! Funny though I only took one pic that whole day...lol! I was really intense I guess on getting that swing down...LOL!

Here is the link to the golf course that we played at. It is a local one for all of us and one of the oldest in probably in California. (Thanks so very much to Rhonda and Junie for helping me understand how to do the link thing! You ladies are the best.)

And the Winner is...ME!

I WON! I WON! (Robyn Jumping up and down in her pink crocs)
I can't believe it! Ok...ok...let me catch my breath. Whew! The place where I call my 'second home', Scrapbook Addict(in West Sacramento,CA) held a raffle! Yes, we had to fill up punch cards and once full we were able to deposit them into a altered paint can to be entered in the raffle. Well, three punch cards and nervous tummy later...Patrica pulled my name! YEA! So, I wanted to share with all of you my good fortune! Take a peek! It was chuckfull of all types of scrapping kits and albums and embellishments. I even got a gift certicate to a massage and Santa Cruz ride tickets and movie passes and an autographed t-shirt from a local celeb. Ain't it cool! I am a Lucky Ducky! Thanks Sarah and Helen at the Scrapbook Addict. Love ya!
